On phone with Apple Care. 3rd time today. They are changing my power adapter. Great service! Thanks!

..after spending two hours on a phone with ignorant cc-representatives? Anyway, good to hear that everything worked out. That is, before your house got burned down...

Hmm. Gotta rush back home to yank my mac's power cord off the socket!

Heh. Actually it was quite smooth process and cc representatives very cooperative. But hey...it's Apple :-)

Tip for next time: walk in to Kampusdata (that's the local Apple retailer, right?) with the broken power adapter (just the brick, no need to bring other parts), hand it over and walk out with a reciept and a brand new power adapter.

At least this is how it works with Varimport here in Turku. (I should know, I've got three of those already -- two of them outside warranty time.) No calls to Apple, no hassle, just a two minute stop to the store.

And, to be clear, the procedure is totally free of charge, of course.

@uninen: that is so true..I actually tried to get adapter from Kampusdata, but they just sold last today...two hours before I called. :-/ But anyway...free call, free delivery and adapter should be here within two days. Free of charge, outside the warranty time also. Cool as hell! :-)

It would be way cooler if Apple made power bricks that, you know, actually worked... :P
